Edmonton Wart Clinic
Specialist plantar wart treatment in Edmonton. We use a structured protocol that combines medical laser with medical-grade cryotherapy to treat stubborn, deep, and recurring plantar warts.
Plantar Warts Are Often Deeper Than They Look
Plantar warts are caused by HPV. Even when a wart looks small on the surface, it can extend deeper under the skin. That is why many people try home treatments for months and still do not get results.
Many of our patients have already tried home products, duct tape, and repeated freezing at a family doctor. When the wart is deep or covered by thick skin, surface-only treatment often fails.
What Is a Plantar Wart?
A plantar wart is a rough growth on the bottom of the foot. It can show up on the heel, the ball of the foot, or the toes. Walking pressure often pushes it inward, not outward.
Thick skin over the spot
Tiny dark dots (small clotted blood vessels)
Pain when the sides are squeezed
Our Treatment Approach
We focus on plantar warts and treat them with a combined protocol, not a single method. Laser and cryotherapy work in different ways, so the goal is to treat more than the surface.
What We Use
Nd:YAG or CO2 laser, selected based on the case
Medical-grade cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen)
How Treatment Works
Medical Assessment
We confirm it is a wart and assess depth, location, and thick callus. We also review your history and what you have tried.
Planned Treatment Sessions
We follow a structured plan. Settings are adjusted to balance results and comfort. We do not start at high settings.
Ongoing Review & Follow-Up
Progress is checked each visit. The approach is adjusted based on response.

Quick Answers
What exactly is a plantar wart?
A plantar wart is an HPV-related growth on the bottom of the foot. It often grows inward and can be covered by thick skin, which makes it harder to treat.
Are plantar warts contagious?
Yes. HPV can spread through direct contact or from surfaces like pools, locker rooms, and communal showers. Early treatment helps reduce spread.
My wart keeps coming back after freezing. Why?
Freezing alone may not reach all wart tissue, especially when the wart is deep or surrounded by thick callus. A combined approach can target the wart more completely.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number. It depends on depth, how long it has been there, your immune response, and how the wart reacts to treatment. Progress is reviewed each visit.
